Our Accommodation

Relaxing residential accommodation

Great care has gone into providing comfortable, stylish and high quality accommodation that truly makes Barley View feel like home for our residents.

Bedrooms

We have 28 bedrooms all with their own en-suite wetroom, wardrobe, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers, armchair and nurse call system. High quality furnishings are blended with practical and accessible facilities to help residents support themselves and receive extra help should they need it. Assisted bathrooms are available on each floor, complete with temperature control and chair hoist.

Every bedroom also includes:

  • Nurse call sensors and and light assisted guidance
  • Lockable medication cabinets
  • TV point
  • Residents are welcome to bring their own furnishings subject to meeting our fire safety policy.

Our communal spaces

The community lounges, kitchens, dining areas and garden are available for residents to enjoy together and with their families.

Careful attention has been paid to make each area comfortable, with specially chosen fabrics and colours. Intelligent, pictorial signage helps guide residents around the facilities, and clever use of colour helps our residents who are living with dementia manage spatial awareness. A hearing loop and level access are offered throughout Barley View.

Visiting

Family and friends are always welcome to visit Barley View, and we consider these visits an essential way of ensuring the wellbeing of our residents.

Visitors are welcome to share time with residents

in various seating areas, enjoying TV in the lounge, having a chat in the quiet area, enjoying a cup of tea in the dining area or relaxing in our beautiful landscaped garden or in the comfort and privacy of their own room.

There’s always time for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee using our communal kitchen facilities or, with prior arrangement, relatives can join residents for meal times.

There are also plenty of ways for residents to keep in touch with their family and friends with internet access to up-to-date technology for Skype and messenger services.
